I haven’t been experimenting with the system for very long, and so far I haven’t found a ’nice control‘ for the circulation pump (on the HRGW)… but maybe there is already something that is more intelligent than the basic difference control plus several calendar entries?

Here is the (fairly clear) suggestion:

A ‚circulation pump‘ module could self-learn, based on the measurement of typical hot water drawoff times (at the hot water outlet of the hot water tank), to detect when circulation typically needs to occur. For example, if hot water is drawn frequently around 7:00 a.m. in the morning, the module would then activate the circulation pump at these times during the week, at 6:30 a.m.

    Further functions:
    – Compliance with DIN etc. on this topic, e.g. flushing by circulation at least every 8 hours
    – longer disinfection runs once a week, if possible through learning then combined with a regular withdrawal

If the function and values above seem familiar to you: Grundfos sells a circulation pump with an external T-sensor that does exactly that.

But who would want a standalone (!) circulation pump when you have the ControlMe control system for the boiler room running in the background? And you could then also link another request to the domestic hot water tank, which is loaded by the circulation… You don’t want to circulate when the domestic hot water tank is close to its lower hysteresis point.
